New Bethlehem First Fellowship Church

End-to-end digital ministry support for a local fellowship church — website, live streaming, hosting, and ongoing technology partnership.

New Bethlehem First Fellowship Church

Challenge

In 2023 the New Bethlehem First United Methodist Church separated from the United Methodist Church to become the New Bethlehem First Fellowship Church — a new identity that needed a look and a website to carry it.

Solution

As the church's primary contact I made the creative decisions: a logo whose colours hold the congregation's United Methodist heritage, the gold of traditional worship in the sanctuary, and the blue of a community of friends, and a WordPress site built in Elementor so volunteers can maintain it. The first draft was finished in two weeks.

Results

The site gives the congregation a modern home for service information, ministry updates, and live stream access — while staying easy for church volunteers to maintain through WordPress and Elementor.

Context

The New Bethlehem First Fellowship Church was previously known as the New Bethlehem First United Methodist Church. Read my portfolio item for the church’s previous incarnation here.

At New Bethlehem First Fellowship Church, our mission is to glorify God through worship, prayer, and the study of His word. We are committed to fostering a loving & welcoming community, where all can grow in faith, share God’s love with others, and serve our neighbors.

Website & branding

In 2023, the NB FUMC separated from the United Methodist Church to become the NB First Fellowship Church. With the launch of the new church name, I had an opportunity to create a new website from scratch to represent the new church identity. In this situation, I was the “primary contact” for the church, which meant I made all creative decisions relating to the design of the site.

I created the NBFFC logo to closely match the church’s mission of serving Christ through fellowship with the congregation and the community as a whole. The colors of the logo represent our heritage as a United Methodist Church, the gold represents the traditional worship elements in the sanctuary, and the blue represents the comfort found in a community of friends.

In my opinion, purely informational websites are the easiest to develop. I completed the first draft of this website in two weeks. I used Elementor on WordPress to achieve a good-looking but easy to maintain design.

I was going for a modern feel that was also in touch with the church’s rich history. I think that the goal was achieved!
