Privacy

What this site collects, and what it doesn't.

This is my personal website. I am not trying to build a profile of you, and there is nothing here I would not be happy to explain in person. Here is exactly what happens when you visit.

What the site itself stores

Nothing. This site sets no cookies of its own and keeps nothing in your browser's storage. There is no advertising, no tracking pixel, and no third-party profiling.

Analytics

I use Fathom Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they read. Fathom is built as a privacy-first alternative to Google Analytics: it does not use cookies, does not identify you, and does not follow you to other websites. I can see that a page was read; I cannot see who read it.

Fonts

Typefaces are served by Google Fonts. Loading them means your browser requests files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and those requests carry your IP address to Google the same way any request to any server does. I receive nothing from it, and no font request is tied to you or to anything else you do here.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the requests that reach it, which includes IP addresses, as part of serving the site and protecting it from abuse.

When you send me something

Two forms on this site collect information, and only because you typed it in.

  • The contact form asks for your name, email address, a subject, and your message.
  • The Life Updates signup asks for your first and last name, your email address, and — optionally — how we know each other.

Both are delivered by FormSubmit, which passes what you submit to my email inbox. FormSubmit also runs a reCAPTCHA check, provided by Google, to keep automated spam out — that check happens on FormSubmit's own page after you press send, not on this site.

What you send arrives as an ordinary email and lives in my mailbox. I use it to reply to you, and for the Life Updates list, to send you those updates. I do not sell it, share it, or add it to any other list. If you signed up for Life Updates and want off, say so and you are off — there is nothing to unsubscribe from beyond me removing you.

Links to other sites

Some pages send you elsewhere — most often to Calico Systems, my company, for technical work. Once you land on another site you are subject to its privacy practices rather than this page.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Asking me about your information

Write to me at [email protected] and ask what I have, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I will do it. You do not need a reason and you do not need to cite a regulation.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it. It was last updated on September 4, 2026.
